Say It Isn’t SO…

I looked into this personally, to get solid facts and so far…there were no official statements made in the U.S. What I DID find out was that although they’re discontinuing the 1200, they are making the 1210mkg as the standard. Unfortunately, this is also unconfirmed.

According to a few message boards due to low sales globally in analogue turntables, Technics have announced that production of the world famous Technics SL-1200 and SL-1210 DJ turntables will stop at the end of February 2010. If this is true, it would mark the end of an era. The 1200/1210 was and continues to be the industry standard for dj’s. I’ve had my 1210s for almost a decade and its been nothing but perfect. We’ll see how this all pans out.

The Next Day…

November 27th, 2009 | Category: Life

Thanksgiving brought a lot into perspective. In one day, I was reminded of why we should all be grateful for everything we’ve been blessed with. I spent my day with our entire family and felt lucky to see them all happy and healthy. Thanks to everyone who inspire me daily, both artistically and musically.

Sound Advice

I originally thought this was written by Thelonious Monk himself, but it was actually written by saxophonist Steve Lacy during his time playing with Monk in 1960. Nonetheless…still words to live by.

Friday Freebies

November 6th, 2009 | Category: Music

Maylee Todd is a super talented artist from Toronto, I guess you can say we met “digitally” since we haven’t met in person. I was immediately drawn to her amazing vibe and was lucky enough to do a quick remix. Click on the banner below to download my remix of Maylee’s SUMMER SOUNDS, then peep her site.

Your ears will thank you. Happy Friday!
